Batch updating a grade and comment column in the grade book.
Batch updating allows you to save time by posting a grade and/or comment in one spot for all students in that assignment.
1. Go to the gradebook and click on, “By Assignment” in the Enter/Edit Grade section.
2. If you wish to update the comments column as well as the grade for all of your students, select the “Full” view at the top of the grade entry page (this is usually the default view). If you don’t want that extra comment column, you can select, “Condensed”.
3. Go to the bottom of the page, and fill in the grade and add a comment if need be, and then click the “Batch update” button. The “lock” checkbox allows you to “lock” and manually overwrite a student grade to ensure it isn’t overwritten by updates to the associated content item. This assumes that you have this item linked to the gradebook from the lessons, and that Angel does automated grading for that assignment. All your students will now have the same grade and/or comment for that assignment.
